An existing ICG client is looking for a Payments Business Development Consultant to work with their COO to establish a payments relationship in Japan.
The successful Accredited Professional will be accountable for:
- identifying appropriate Japan-domiciled business banking/payments partners
- making introductions for our client
- aiding the selection of banking partner and aiding the establishment of a payments business model with that partner.
Payments Business Development Consultant
Our client is establishing a payments service in Japan, based on a successful business model used in other countries.
As a third party payments processor (TPPP) our client wishes to secure a local banking relationship in Japan to support commercial operations and accounts for the purpose of holding and settling client funds and enabling Bank Account Direct Debit Processing as a Third Party Payment Processor.
Our client also seeks a Merchant Acquiring/Card Processing relationship in Japan, to support processing of payments as a Third Party Payment Processor/Payment Facilitator on behalf of local Japanese clients, from their Japanese customers, in local Japanese currency.
The successful Accredited Professional will have deep experience in the Japanese payments industry including relationships with important Japanese banks. They will have demonstrated track record of successfully building payments relationships in Japan, with appropriate knowledge of and sensitivities towards business cultural norms.
Ideally the Professional will have significant experience in:
- 5+ years as a management consultant or industry executive
- Complex multi-business, multi-geography enterprises
- Payments services in Japan
- Dealing with a variety of regulatory stakeholders
Logistics, Rate & Process
Logistics: Starting approximately end April. 2-3 week project
Location: No specific location, however will require travel to Japan/domicile in Japan to effect personal introductions and facilitate bank partner selection plus establishment of payments business model.
Reasonable travel and accommodation expenses will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Rate: Final amount to be negotiated with the client, however, depending on level of experience and seniority, the daily gross rate range for the Communications Leader would be between $US2,600 and $US3,500.
