Client

An existing ICG client is looking for a Payments Business Development Consultant to work with their CEO to establish a payments relationship in South Africa.

The Role

The successful Accredited Professional will be accountable for:

  • identifying appropriate South Africa-domiciled business banking/payments partners;
  • making introductions for our client;
  • aiding the selection of banking partner;
  • aiding the establishment of a payments business model with that partner;and
  • identifying regulatory obligations from a payments processing perspective and company setup obligations.

Payments Business Development Consultant

Our client is establishing a payments service in South Africa, based on a successful business model used in other countries.

As a third party payments processor (TPPP) our client wishes to secure a local banking relationship in South Africa to support commercial operations and accounts for the purpose of holding and settling client funds and enabling Bank Account Direct Debit Processing as a Third Party Payment Processor.

Our client also seeks a Merchant Acquiring/Card Processing relationship in South Africa, to support processing of payments as a Third Party Payment Processor/Payment Facilitator on behalf of local South African clients, from their South Africa customers, in local South African currency.

The successful accredited professional will have deep experience in the South African payments industry including relationships with important South African banks. They will have demonstrated track record of successfully building payments relationships in South Africa, with appropriate knowledge of and sensitivities towards business cultural norms.

Ideally the affiliate will have significant experience in:

  • 5+ years as a management consultant or industry executive
  • Complex multi-business, multi-geography enterprises
  • Payments services in South Africa
  • Dealing with a variety of regulatory stakeholders

 

Logistics, Location & Rate

Logistics: The engagement will commence 1 July 2019 and last 4-6 weeks, with potential to extend based on outcomes.

Location: Not location specific, however will require travel to South Africa/domicile in South Africa to effect personal introductions and facilitate bank partner selection plus establishment of payments business model. Reasonable travel and accommodation expenses will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Rates: Final amount to be negotiated with the client, however, depending on level of experience and seniority, the daily gross rate range would be between $AU2,000 and $AU2,500.

We will review all APT’s and select the best 3. The client will then conduct interviews.
