An ICG boutique is looking for an Experienced Business Analyst to work with a very experienced Growth & Turnaround Specialist to assist the development of a strategy to support the company’s aggressive expansion to build a national presence for an entrepreneurial and innovative technology company. The strategy development will precede a capital raising process aimed at funding existing organic growth and the expanded geographic rollout. As such, there is scope for this role to be extended into a capital raising process and see first-hand how to do it.
The successful accredited professional will be accountable for analyzing Market Segmentation & Attractiveness and Internal Profitability of the business and working with the Managing Director and team to craft a sensible commercialization strategy as the company builds a national presence and refines its suite of cloud-based SaaS offerings to Small to Medium businesses.
Experienced Business Analyst
The successful professional will primarily work with the Director and Managing Director to develop a robust strategy, proposition to both Customers and Channel Partners and discern the capabilities and skills required to implement.
The successful professional will have deep experience in quantitative analysis of industries, market sizing, searching for the most attractive segments as well as dissecting the internal profitability of the company; a granular and instructive approach to improving the pursuit of profitable growth. Specifically, the three main areas to review are:
a) Segmentation & attractiveness (Demand side) -assisting to dissect the market, by customer segment, product/service and geographic region, to determine those segments that are large, growing and profitable in order to prioritise the launch sequence to build a national presence.
b) Segmented profit analysis (Supply side) – dissecting current profitability by Client Category (e.g. Small, Medium, Large, Govt.), Service (e.g. Data/Connectivity, Managed Network Services, Applications etc.) and, possibly, channel, and
c) Proposition review-Both Customer and Partner – Assessing the Value Propositions offered vis a vis competitors to both the company’s Customers and Partners; both in existing and selected new markets in Australia.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of successfully supporting previous strategy development engagements or similar. Ideally, the accredited professional will have experience in:
- Experience (2-3 years) as a business analyst, management consultant or industry analyst
- Deep analysis and market research
- IT, Telecommunications (ICT) and /or Cloud-based Services (Ideally to SMBs
- Dealing with ambiguity, sporadic data sources and takes a commercial pragmatic approach to their work
Strategy development will precede a Phase II stream of work to prepare for a capital raising for the company. Specifically, it is expected that the company will have a clearer view of where it makes its money and where the profitable growth opportunities lie. As such, the above work stream may be extended into the capital raising process, especially pertaining to the development or finalisation of a financial forecasting model and the development of an Information Memorandum.
Logistics, Location & Rate
Logistics: Starting immediately for initial 6-8 week period with a potential to extend for a further 4-6 weeks.
Location: Hobart. The role is full time, but the successful candidate will be required to be present on the client’s premises 3-4 days a week. Travel and accommodation expenses will be paid by the client. Offshore and interstate candidates will be considered.
Rate: Final amount to be negotiated with the client, however, depending on level of experience and seniority, the daily net rate range for the Experienced Business Analyst would be between $990 and $1,350
