ICG Becomes accepted as the Global Platform Disruptor
The Australian Financial Review (the leading business newspaper in Australasia) featured a full page article by Edmund Tadros on the future of consulting. The article suggests that clients are increasingly seeking control of their consulting solutions. The idea of providing control to clients and control to consultants is at the heart of ICG’s value proposition and is one of the key reasons we are increasingly recognised as the global disruptor in consulting. The article also refers to one of the accounting brands providing project management training to their clients. Training of clients and consultants is one of ICG’s 5 pillars and is at the centre of our strategy as we help our clients build their ‘Internal’ capabilities.

Overview: |
Edmund Tadros is the accounting and consulting editor at the Australian Financial Review – Australia’s leading business paper. In this full-page article, he outlines the ICG platform and why it is superior to traditional consulting business models for both clients and consultants. He quotes strategy heads from the big four, who argue that ICG is only impacting the freelance industry and only good for small projects. Edmund interviews two very senior executives from Navitas and Suncorp, who are ICG clients that counter this by describing why they picked ICG for major transformation projects (e.g. Gary quotes 10 ICG consultants for a year-long project).
The article is supported by two cut-out stories, one with our clients and one comparing us to local Australian competition and highlighting ICG’s lower margins.
Both Himanshu Dua (SYD HUB) and David Moloney (SYD HUB) are extensively quoted.

Overview: | Tony Boyd, Australia’s leading journalist, reports on the release of a major report by Australian think tank CEDA called Australia’s Future Workforce? In the article, Boyd highlights the rapid migration to independent employment around the world and the often weakened position of the contractors under such arrangements. David Moloney and ICG are quoted as solutions to this problem because, unlike ‘virtual serfdom’ models, ICG combines a professional association-like structure and an open architecture platform which fairly and transparently manages the matching of demand and supply. |

Author: | Leah Eichler |
Overview: | In a recent piece for The Globe and Mail, Canada’s national newspaper, Leah Eichler wrote about the explosion in the usages of big data and technology. Eichler highlighted both the power of technology, its adoption, especially mobile, by Millennials and the disruptive implications of changes in the marketplace globally. More and more job seekers are using mobile devices to look for work and as such are usurping traditional recruiting approaches. The impact – improved productivity, a wider scope, the ability to evaluate automatically, and the perception of a better overall experience. Could this be the golden age of hiring? Gerry Purcell of ICG warns companies to tread carefully when relying on big data for hiring decisions. “While the engines are more powerful than they ever have been, and the buy-in is higher as the numbers can be crunched faster and easier, the underlying math is the same and, still susceptible to the same biases”. ICG’s own recruiting and deployment technologies, the Industrialized Adhocracy platform, are built on a foundation of rigorous curation of the potential labour pool, certification of each candidate and the ability of the hiring manager to choose from a pool of fit for purpose resources. |

Finally, in response to Singapore’s efforts to create regional hubs for Professional Associations, reference is made to the ability of this technology to help Australia take a lead in the knowledge economy globally. |
