BAF® Request: Global-INS-396-Insurance Sector Research

ICG BAF

Client

Building on the success of our first Engage Your Peer (EYP) search, which is connecting the CEO’s of a number of major domestic banking organisations across the globe, ICG has recently secured another EYP assignment.

This EYP project is commissioned by two leading domestic businesses of a large Property & Casualty (P & C) insurance group and seeks to establish ‘C suite’ relationships with likeminded General Insurance companies in selected geographies around the world.

The Role

To support the initial “EYP – Identify” stage of the assignment we seek an ICG professional that has strong research skills and ideally a good understanding of the General (Property & Casualty) Insurance sector. Under the direction of the EYP Co-ordinator and Client Relationship Manager the researcher will be required to research and identify a number of organisations in each target geography that best fit the client defined search criteria.

As with other EYP assignments, we expect the search brief to be refined and developed over time, but initially the focus will be to identify target organisations in Canada, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States and one other European market. Knowledge of these insurance markets and how they compare and contrast to Australia and New Zealand would be advantageous.

The EYP researcher will, following a predefined template, be asked to identify key insurance sector attributes for the selected countries and to prepare a long list of typically four to eight target organisations in each country. In-conjunction with the EYP Co-ordinator and Client Relationship Manager the researcher will identify the top two or three best matches in each geography before ICG presents this ‘long list’ research to the client.

Thereafter the client usually shortlists by country and preferred organisation and the assignment moves to the next ‘EYP – Establish’ stage where we seek to establish bi-lateral and peer reference group dialogue. This BAF covers the first stage of the EYP process, but the researcher will be well placed to support the continuing assignment.

EYP Researcher

Ideally the accredited professional will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong General (Property & Casualty) Insurance sector knowledge / experience
  •  A knowledge of the target markets
  • Excellent desk research capabilities using generally available search tools
  • An ability to curate and distill the research into a succinct powerpoint presentation for client consideration and shortlisting.

Logistics, Process and Rate
