Client

A new ICG client, an Equity Asset Manager, seeks an Senior Fund Operations Specialist to help train existing staff in the areas of settlement, bank and securities reconciliation with prime brokers, administrators, and custodians, including reporting and other back office responsibilities.  The Client is a newly licensed Fund Manager in Hong Kong investing in Asia Pacific Long-Short equities strategy.

The Role

The successful accredited professional will be responsible for the training of existing fund operations staff on day to day requirements for an equity long short fund portfolio.  The successful candidate would have experience in running or overseeing fund operations for global securities, in particular: equity and its derivatives as Head of Fund Operations or as COO.  In addition, they must possess the following skill sets:

• Significant experience (5-10 years minimum) running fund operations for large and complex asset management firms,
• Solid skill set in training and knowledge transfer
• Deep knowledge of funds operations, including processes, IT systems and multi-asset class reporting
• Strong understanding of front, middle and back office systems and processes in order to integrate them into the workflow
• Good working knowledge in investments, complex financial instruments, banking and regulatory domains and the management of key stakeholders
• Well-diversified and resourceful
• Exceptional communication, management, and interpersonal skills

Senior Fund Operations Specialist

The successful professional will report to the CIO of the Fund and work with its internal fund operations team to provide up to date training and development in best industry practices.  He/She will have strong knowledge of current industry specific IT systems which integrate the full functionalities of front, middle and back offices, including accounting for and valuation of Asia Pacific equities, futures and options. 

The successful professional will have deep fund operations experience with a strong emphasis on current processes and best practices in the Industry such as relevant regulatory requirements.  They will have demonstrated track record of successfully managing the knowledge transfer and change requirements for financial institutions.

Logistics, process & Rate

Logistics: Starting as soon as November 1, 2017 for initial two-month period.  Candidates will need to be onsite and available up to 5 days a week for the first month, with a reduced schedule for the final month.

Location: Hong Kong.

Offshore and interstate candidates will only be considered if they cover their own travel and accommodation expenses

Rate: Final amount to be negotiated with the client, however, depending on level of experience and seniority, the daily gross rate range for the Senior Funds Operations Specialist would be between HKD 8,000 to HKD 14,000.
