BAF® Request: LON-436-Psychology of Change
Client
A UK national retailer with a network of 750 stores and an on line offer with combined revenues of £5.7 billion. Following a recent acquisition by another national retailer the company has embarked on a branch rationalisation programme. A number of stores are being closed and their retail operations transferred to the parent company. One of the “human” consequences of this change are a number of redundancies across three employee groups: associates, branch managers and regional managers.
In recognition of the significant impact this will have on people, the client is running a three day residential course.
One of ICG’s professional boutique consultancies, who own the client relationship has been commissioned to design and deliver the course. Its objective is to upskill internal company trainers enabling them to provide support to facilitate the change. The internal trainers typically come from a branch manager background.
The Role
Subject Matter Expert in “The Psychology of Change”
The successful professional, a recognised Global Thought Leader (not necessarily by ICG), in the field of “The Psychology of Change” will deliver a 60-90 minute presentation to the course delegates.
The session needs to cover three areas:
- Psychology of change – understanding of theories and how this can help the trainers to develop strategies to manage the change process. What happens when the psychology of change and its impact on the way people behave is not considered.
- Knowledge – Hands on practical techniques, tools, ways of working.
- Know your limits – how far can I go? When do I stop and when to refer to another specialist person for help e.g. councillor
It is preferred that GTL attends in person with a 60-90 min delegate session and the possibility of joining the delegates for dinner/lunch. Consideration will also be given to professionals that could deliver their session through a high quality video conferencing link.
Next Steps:
1. Identify if we have an SME with the relevant experience and recognised expertise.
2. Make the necessary introductions with our ICG professional boutique consultancy to enable a more detailed brief to be developed.
