Client

A new ICG client, a Canadian Bank, seeks a Senior Advisor to work with the Bank’s executive to help pursue, negotiate and execute a key component of its procurement BPO strategy.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, the successful professional will focus on contracts for Procurement Operations, Category Management and Services outsourcing. They will be accountable, working in parallel with a number of other work streams (e.g., fixed assets and accounts payable), to provide advice and guidance, drawn from extensive hands on experience, to the CPO and their team as the Bank makes its way through negotiation and fulfilment/execution of the necessary contract(s).

Senior Advisor, Procurement BPO

The professional will have deep experience in both conceiving and implementing plans for business process outsourcing efforts, in particular those involving a procurement-related staff in category management, procurement operations and services in predominantly indirect spend environment (e.g., a Bank).

They will have successfully managed the design and implementation of large-scale procurement BPO programs that have delivered on spend reduction, staffing, best practice and market metric targets. For clarity, the Bank will require advice at a number of stages of the program, for example during contracting related to best practices in the definition of sourcing methods, how and what to measure (SLAs), the “issues to avoid” in the negotiation of contracts and the introduction of risk and reward sharing, termination clauses, etc.

The Accredited professional will possess all or most of:

  • Demonstrated competence in designing and implementing major BPO programs;
  • Deep understanding of procurement, fixed asset, financial and accounts payable/receivable issues with organizations with large and diverse spend portfolios;
  • Experience in assessing the performance of procurement operations and the management of indirect spend categories;
  • Experience in the design and implementation of BPO operations and systems, including specific experience in various BPO delivery models, in particular the approach utilized by the Accenture organization;
  • Senior management experience.

Logistics, Process and Rate

Logistics: Toronto location; Starting immediately for initial 3 or 4-month period of contracting support (i.e., the design, planning and negotiation phase), with a follow-on phase of implementation working closely with the chosen outsourcer (advisory support through the transition and implementation phase) extending for an additional 3 or 4 months, or perhaps longer.

In view of the probable extended duration of the assignment, applicants living in Toronto would be favoured, but professionals from outside of Toronto will be considered on a case by case basis

We will review all APT’s and select the best 3 for the client. The client or ICG Account Manager will then conduct interviews and advise of further process.

Rates: Final amount to be negotiated with the client, however, depending on level of experience and seniority, the daily gross rate range for the Senior Advisor, Procurement BPO would be between CAD $2,750 and $3,500 plus HST.
